The reliable spine
The non-AI spine is the source-linked workflow: clean records, rules, calculations, integrations, exception queues, approvals and reporting for Enquiry-to-quote pipeline and buyer follow-up.
Exporters & Import Trading Houses
The topline looks fine but the real return per deal is a guess and the pipeline is invisible. Export RFQs and buyer enquiries die in one salesperson's inbox or WhatsApp because nobody owns them; a costed quote is built from memory of last season's rates and forex; the same enquiry is worked twice or dropped; and nobody can see how many live enquiries exist, who owns each, or which products and buyers actually earn after every charge and the forex difference. The owner is flying on gut, not on arithmetic over the firm's own numbers. Selling imported stock downstream is a distributor's leak: discounting to the dealer network runs as a free-for-all with no view of dealer outstanding, so long credit lines become a surprise and margin leaks through unapproved discount bands. Landed cost was high (duty, clearing, freight, forex), so a few points of unmanaged discount on the way out wipes the deal.
Who has it
Merchant exporters at the core, indenting and sourcing agents where enquiry-to-deal matching is the whole job, and the export side of commodity and agri-export traders. Import and distribution houses at the core, where imported stock is sold into the Indian market on credit, and the domestic-sale side of commodity and agri-export traders.
What we build
One tracked enquiry inbox and a lightweight pipeline shaped around how export and indent sales actually work (buyer, enquiry, sample, costed quote, order, repeat), so every enquiry gets a named owner and a response deadline; a quoting view that builds an export price from current rates, freight, duty position, expected incentives and the forex assumption so quotes stop going out under-costed; and true-margin-per-shipment and per-buyer arithmetic that nets every charge, refund and forex difference. For indenting and sourcing agents the same pipeline is the buyer-to-supplier matching board. A downstream price list, approved discount bands, credit terms and outstanding-by-dealer on one screen, with an approval gate on any discount past the agreed band or credit past terms.
What is automated, where AI helps, who signs off
The reliable spine
The non-AI spine is the source-linked workflow: clean records, rules, calculations, integrations, exception queues, approvals and reporting for Enquiry-to-quote pipeline and buyer follow-up.
Where AI helps
AI is limited to bounded reading, extraction, matching, clustering or drafting from the firm's own data for Enquiry-to-quote pipeline and buyer follow-up; it never owns the number, the approval, the promise or the decision.
Who signs off
A named person signs off anything touching money, stock, a customer promise, a regulated filing, a payment, a price, a credit decision or a people decision.
What changes day to day
No enquiry slips through; quotes go out costed off current rates and forex instead of memory; the owner sees true contribution by product and buyer and stops chasing the deals that quietly lose money. Off-band discounts stop happening quietly; dealer outstanding is visible before it stretches; credit decisions reach a named person with the dealer's overdue balance attached and the true landed-cost floor in view.
Illustrative outcome
A higher share of enquiries converted to quotes and orders, and visible true margin per shipment. Recovered downstream margin in the low single-digit percent of distribution revenue in the first year. Illustrative; final numbers come from your own data.
